Graphite sketching

As a change from painting we tried some graphite pencil sketches of Bart. He was a very good model and posed quietly for quite a lengthy time. We started off breaking down his face into shapes and measuring distances, lengths etc with our pencil. Then looking at shadow and tone. Editing a photo of Bart to change it to black and white also helped see this more clearly.
